Oral health is critical to one’s general health and well-being across the life course, which emphasizes the importance of regular dental visits and home oral care. However, people with disabilities encounter great challenges in accessing dental care and practicing good oral hygiene daily.
In this project period (2020 – 2022), the Center for Health Equity, as part of the Oral Health for Hoosiers with Disabilities Project, will work with caregivers and dental workforce professionals to find sustainable solutions to improve the oral health of Hoosiers with disabilities and increase the current capacity of Indiana’s dental workforce to provide quality dental care to individuals with disabilities.
This project is funded by the Indiana Governor's Council for People with Disabilities (GCPD).
