Public health protects and promotes the health and wellness of people and their communities. With this project, Expanding the Public Health Workforce Within the Disability Networks, the Center for Health Equity (CHE) aims to address the unique needs of Hoosiers with disabilities, through disability-related activities for public health and health care workforce in Indiana.
This project is funded by the Administration for Community Living, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The project period is from April 1, 2022 to September 30, 2024.
During the course of this project, CHE plans to do the following activities:
- Convene meetings of the Indiana Disability and Health Work Group (made up of representatives from disability and health organizations).
- Collaborate with public health and health care organizations to provide information and resources about health disparities and disability.
- Conduct disability sensitivity and awareness training for public health and health care workforce.
- Examine the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health of family caregivers of Hoosiers with disabilities.
