Dr. Joel Meier is professor emeritus and former chair of the Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Studies at Indiana University. He is also professor emeritus and former associate dean of the University of Montana's College of Forestry and Conservation. He is president of American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, a senior Fulbright Scholar and member of the Academy of Park and Recreation Administration. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Nebraska, and his doctorate from Indiana University.
