When learners complete the Park and Recreation Facility Management Practices Certificate Program, they now receive a digital badge along with the CEUs and certificate of completion. Digital badging is part of Indiana University’s microcredentialling program. Students receive the digital badge and can connect it to sites like LinkedIn or add to their email signature or résumé.
Verified digital badges use embedded metadata to allow anyone who clicks on the icon to see the qualifications that were required to earn that credential. In other words, it is an easy way to communicate your competency in a given field. Eppley’s digital badges are connected to knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with established competency frameworks – in this case, the World Parks Academy Competencies for Asset Management.
Keep an eye out for more digitally verified learning on IU Expand in the coming months!
