Prepare for your Tourist Season with 20% off our Tourism Planning Certificate Program

Tuesday, May 12, 2026

Content: In 2024, the National Park Service reported 331.9 million recreation visits. These 331.9 million visits brought in $29 billion to communities near national parks. As we approach peak season for park and recreation tourism, it is important to plan how to take advantage of the large tourism industry.  Our Tourism Planning for Park and Recreation Agencies Certificate Program discusses the benefits of utilizing recreation assets for tourism and will lead you through the process of planning, implementing, and gaining public support for this effort.

After completing this certificate program, you will be able to

  • Explain how park and recreation agencies are an integral part of the tourism industry.
  • Engage the public when planning park facilities and tourism-related activities.
  • Analyze supply, demand, and visitor attitudes for the impact of your use of park assets for tourism.
  • Create a needs assessment that helps fill gaps between current and desired conditions.
  • Gather public support for your tourism development efforts.
  • Create and market parks and recreation facilities and programming for tourist use.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of your tourism development efforts.

Use code TCP2026 for 20% off the Tourism Planning for Park and Recreation Agencies Certificate Program.

The above code is valid through 5/16-6/30/26.
