For decades, Eppley has been at the forefront of online learning and accessible content. Our journey through different course platforms and learning management systems has been driven in part by the knowledge that all people, regardless of ability, must have an equal opportunity to access information online. Among other things, that means ensuring that our courses can be navigated by screen readers and offering alternative formats of our course content.
One area in which we can all improve is the accessibility of our downloadable documents. To embrace continued improvement, Eppley and our sister Centers at the IU Institute on Disability and Community have catalogued every document in our online courses and reviewed thousands of pages for affronts to access. We are actively updating those that we authored, and we are finding accessible solutions such as providing links or long descriptions for others.
While this process is ongoing and we are replacing content as we head to our April 2027 finish line, we are keenly aware that accessibility is a continuous process. We remain committed to offering the best online learning opportunities for all our learners.
