The annual Great Lakes Park Training (GLPTI) will return to Pokagon State Park from February 24-27, 2025. GLPTI, the longest continuously running training academy for park professionals in the nation, features educational sessions, networking opportunities, and social events in a unique and relaxed atmosphere.
For 2025, GLPTI is reprising the popular and successful Women’s Leadership in Parks Program. First offered in 2009, Executive Leadership for Women focused on developing female leaders for parks, recreation, and public lands management organizations who understand the importance of leadership, the characteristics that make women important in leading organizations, and how these characteristics tailor leadership style, self-knowledge, and competencies. The program will be led by highly accomplished women in the parks and recreation field and will interaction, instruction, individual and group projects, and leadership training scenarios providing hands-on, practical learning to develop leadership skills. The program runs concurrently with GLPTI at Pokagon. More details will be provided in the GLPTI registration announcement.

GLPTI sessions are presented in 5 tracks- Park and Facilities Maintenance, Personnel and Career Development, Natural Resource Management, Natural and Cultural Interpretation, and Park Operations and will also feature a virtual package of online sessions for those unable to travel.
