Materials Available for Loan from the Library at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community
As a member of a multidisciplinary team or as an isolated professional, the SLP (speech language pathologist) often needs access to standardized assessments in language functioning, pragmatics and social skills. A thorough evaluation is key to creating effective treatment plans. When making an investment in an assessment, it may be helpful to have an opportunity to use the product first to see if it meets expectations and needs. We know that It may be cost prohibitive for a school district or an agency to purchase extensive speech and language assessment materials. The Library at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community has a collection of SLP assessment tools that cover a wide range of topics that include:
• Articulation
• Augmented Alternative Communication (AAC)
• Language Functioning
• Pragmatics
• Vocabulary
These assessments can be checked out by licensed speech language pathologists in Indiana. The collection is a collaborative project supported by Indiana Resource Center for Autism and The Library at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community.
