Sandy Block, research associate with the Center on Community Living and Careers (CCLC), will present at the national Association of People Supporting Employment (APSE) conference on June 13. Block’s presentation is “Job Development 101,” a focus on marketing and representation strategies that can boost a job developer’s confidence and lead to an increase in subsequent placements.
In keeping with the conference theme of “Creating Connections,” Block’s presentation will highlight the importance of relations between business leaders and employment specialists. Creating connections is critical for establishing trust and common understanding, two essential elements for effective job development.
The only national organization to focus exclusively on inclusive employment and career advancement opportunities for individuals with disabilities, APSE is a professional membership association that provides education and resources for organizations and individuals who have a vested interest in Employment First.
APSE will hold their annual national conference in Columbus, Ohio from June 12–15, 2023. The Indiana Institute on Disability and Community has a long-standing relationship with APSE and is a sponsor of this year’s conference.
