Janet Leigh Carpenter is a administrative program secretary with the Center for Collaborative Systems Change (CCSC) at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community, Indiana University, Bloomington.
Originally from the Louisville area, Carpenter has lived in Bloomington since the fall of 2004. As an employee of Indiana University, I previously worked in the areas of student development, adolescent medicine, and pediatric residency education. My research experience relates to children with special healthcare needs and their utilization of healthcare services, as well as children’s mental health, developmental screening, racial disparities, and community engagement. She enjoys working collaboratively with community-based organizations and multidisciplinary partners in achieving mutually beneficial goals. Within the Center, she serves in an administrative capacity by providing support to various projects within the state of Indiana. Additionally, she serves on several committees within the Institute (e.g., retreat, United Way, etc.). Outside of work, Carpenter enjoys traveling, reading, and meeting new people.
