Jean Updike is a part-time research associate with the Center for Community Living and Careers (CCLC) at the Indiana Institute for Disability and Community, Indiana University, Bloomington.
Updike came to Indiana Institute after having been employed at Vocational Rehabilitation for 28 years. She brings knowledge of VR at both a local and state perspective. Updike’s social work background assists her in focusing on the system model in her approach to services for individuals with disabilities. The current focus of Updike’s work is with the Vocational Rehabilitation Learning Academy curriculum development. Updike previously was a licensed social worker and a certified rehabilitation counselor; both are currently in retired status.
Degrees
Updike holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Administration of Criminal Justice from Anderson University and a Master’s in Social Work from Indiana University.

Research Interests
Updike’s focus is on employment, transition, and VR training curriculum.
