Adversity and traumatic experiences that result in toxic stress negatively impact a person’s capacity to thrive throughout life. Because childhood adversity and toxic stress are so prevalent, implementing trauma responsive practices benefits both students and educators. These brain aligned strategies positively impact all students, regardless of history with adversity. Our professional development and consultation are designed for all individuals interacting with children and youth and focus on school-wide (organization-wide) practices. These practices promote emotional, physical and social safety; the development of social, emotional, and behavioral skills; and positive and culturally responsive discipline. In addition to offering regional 2-3 day intensive workshops, we also offer on-site professional development that can be collaboratively developed with school-based leadership teams.
