This 8-week, comprehensive online training gives employment consultants, specialists, job developers, and other professionals the foundation, techniques, and effective strategies necessary for supporting job seekers with disabilities.

If you are involved in training, preparation, hiring, inclusion, and job placement for inclusive community employment this training is for you.

Employment Consultant Training with an Emphasis on Customized Employment is brought to you by the Employment Technical Assistance team at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community and its Center on Community Living and Careers. We specialize in training community employment providers, vocational rehabilitation professionals, and transition coordinators.

Employment Consultant Training with an Emphasis on Customized Employment is certified by the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE). Trainees successfully completing all training modules are eligible for the Basic Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services with an Emphasis on Customized Employment.

This course also offers 6.5 CEs (continuing education units) and prepares you for the Certified Employment Specialist Certification (CESP) exam. 

In addition, by participating in all training components and successfully completing all online assignments, you will receive a competency-based certificate from Indiana University

Registration Information

Now registering: November 4 through December 31, 2024

All training content modules will be available on Canvas for the duration of the course. 

Upon enrolling, you will receive instructions and the link to Canvas. Note: When you register, you'll receive an email invitation to the course. Be sure to accept that invitation, or Canvas will not allow you to open the course modules.

Trainees can move through the course at their own pace within the eight-week timeframe and even finish the course early. Course assignments will be graded, and attendees have access to instructor support and feedback throughout their training.

Estimated course completion time: 65 hours

Cost: $325 per person.
